PTI Chairman Imran Khan Shot As Container Comes Under Attack
PTI chairman Imran Khan has been injured in a Thursday firing incident in Wazirabad.

Gunshots were reported in the vicinity of the PTI chairman's container earlier. It later emerged that he had been injured. The PTI supremo sustained a bullet in the leg. The PTI chairman has been taken to a Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Lahore. His condition is said to be stable.

The incident transpired at the city's Allahwala Chowk where a stampede ensued after the gunshots were heard. The firing was earlier misconstrued as fireworks.

Senator Faisal Javed Khan, also injured in the attack, says one party member has died in the attack. PTI leader Ahmad Chattha and Umar Dar have also been injured.

Police have claimed to have nabbed the assailant. The man, identified as Faisal Butt, attempted to flee after being overwhelmed.

Punjab health minister Yasmin Rashid, separately, said the PTI had sustained two bullets. Senator Faisal, separately, demanded an inquiry into the incident. He also said the PTI chairman's long march to Islamabad was now "unstoppable".
