Karachi: A group of senior journalists and communication professionals met under the banner of the Pakistan Authors' Network and discussed ways to promote creative minds, particularly among Generation Z, and support young talent across the country.
The initiative, headed by Tariq Khalique and Khawaja Amer, will bring together creative minds, experienced professionals, and emerging young talent on a common platform, fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for innovation and growth.
The meeting focused on creating opportunities for young people to express their ideas, share their experiences and play a meaningful role in society. It was decided that the platform would arrange direct interactions with college and university students to understand the challenges they face, particularly in accessing opportunities, resources, guidance and support.
Participants stressed the need to listen to young people and involve them in identifying the issues affecting their education, creativity and future prospects. They agreed that the platform should provide them with a space where their voices could be heard and their ideas encouraged.
It was also recommended that the name of the platform should be reconsidered to better reflect its vision, objectives and commitment to promoting young creative talent.
The participants emphasised that the initiative would work to identify, encourage and support talented children and young people who, despite having the potential to achieve great things, lack the necessary resources, opportunities and proper direction. The aim is to help them develop their abilities, pursue their ambitions and build a better future.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of providing young people with the right encouragement, guidance and opportunities, regardless of their background or financial circumstances. The platform aims to bring together creative minds, experienced professionals and young talent to help build a more confident, creative and empowered generation in Pakistan.
