He was alerted to the imminent threat of a US missile attack on his residence and asked to take cover in a bunker, stately and serene. The eighty-six-year-old Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, chose to embrace martyrdom along with his family and his companions. Defiant till his last breath, he refused to bow down before the biggest tyrants of the world.
In his death, he has risen to the ultimate glory, in the tradition of the martyrs of Karbala. More than that, the parallels to the martyrdom of Imam Ali Muqam, Ali Murtaza himself, are exceptional; wearing the black dastaar-e-fazilat of Imam Ali, martyred in the month of Ramadan, ambushed by the wretched enemy while fasting.
Little did the ignorant enemy know that, in fact, Ali Khamenei is now a hundred times more powerful than when he was alive.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei knew that his martyrdom would infuse new life into Iranians and galvanise them for the battle ahead. The war on Iran imposed by the USA and Israel attained a newer and higher meaning; truce or compromise does not remain an option anymore. There are only two choices: victory or death.
The Trump administration has made a huge blunder by attacking Iran, as all its speculations have turned out to be completely wrong. Trump was briefed that as soon as the Ayatollah was assassinated, there would be a popular uprising in Iran; the people would come out on the streets, and there would be regime change. The USA would again succeed in installing a puppet there, and the world would be in awe of a US President so smart and strong that he solved the ‘Iran problem’ in just a couple of days. This would then surely be enough to get him the Nobel Peace Prize that he wants so badly.
But to the utter frustration of Trump, what transpired was the exact opposite. Though the people did gather in the tens of thousands on the streets of Iranian cities, it was not for regime change but rather to mourn the death of the Supreme Leader. There was no popular uprising in favour of any US-backed puppet, including Ali Reza Pahlavi.
Without even a day’s delay, Iran attacked all the US bases in the Persian Gulf, in all the GCC countries, close allies of the USA. Iran launched its ballistic missiles at Israel and as far as Cyprus. The message was loud and clear: Iran was not intimidated by the attack on its cities and civilians, and it was fully committed to fighting.
The relentless launch of ballistic missiles by Iran fully demonstrated to the world that its missile programme and stockpiles were intact and functional, and the US claims of destroying Iran’s missile programme last year turned out to be bogus.

The USA is caught in the web of lies and deceit that it had spun. The hubris that Trump and his cabinet secretaries have shown is despicable. The language the Secretary of Defence chose to describe their cowardly attacks on civilians is utterly shameful and in complete disregard for any international law. Pete Hegseth has boasted that Iran is toast and that “we will show no mercy”. It is but a matter of time before the world sees how these words will haunt America for a very long time.
Iran is the continuation of one of the oldest civilisations in the world, neighbouring Mesopotamia. Its history dates back more than five thousand years. The oldest villages in Iran date back to 7000 BC and show signs of farming and permanent habitation. The oldest empire in Persia, around 3000 BC, had administration, palaces, the Elamite language, script and writing systems. Later, it produced one of the largest empires the world had ever seen, founded by Cyrus the Great around 550 BCE. The empire even then had an advanced administrative system and an imperial road network.
In comparison, the USA in 2026 has a broken system where its roads and bridges are ageing and deteriorating, rail infrastructure is outdated, public transport is underdeveloped, and water systems and dams are obsolete. The American Society of Civil Engineers gave America’s infrastructure a D+ grade.
The reality of the might of America is that 91 million people in the USA cannot afford healthcare or medicine. There is a drug pandemic in the USA related to opioids and fentanyl, causing hundreds of thousands of deaths over the past two decades. In just 2023, there were 110,000 deaths in America from drug overdoses, higher than the average.
Around 200 people died every day during the peak years of the crisis. Drug overdoses became the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18–44. There is a broken education system and widespread mental health issues. Many of their elite politicians and the Epstein class are embroiled in despicable scandals.
But instead of spending more money on these issues, the USA spends billions of dollars on foreign wars to keep the defence economy going. It keeps whipping up enemies and creating wars of choice to fill the coffers of billionaires who benefit from wars, while their citizens cannot afford medicine for themselves.

This puppet regime in the USA believed that it could defeat Iran in a few short days, but it is becoming more obvious with each passing day that Iran is neither intimidated nor ready for any truce. This time, Iran is fighting an existential war with everything it has, going full throttle and using every strategy at its disposal to inflict the heaviest losses on the enemy.
In a very conservative estimate, Iran has the potential to prolong the war for years. The reason is that Iran is a fully self-reliant country and they do not depend on any other country for food, fuel or water. They have a tightly secured western border with rugged mountains and the Persian Gulf, creating a natural fortress. There is no way possible for any ground invasion of Iran. It is an oil-rich country with enormous surplus food and stockpiles of arms and ammunition.
Whereas the USA and its allies are stuck in their aircraft carriers far from home in the Persian Gulf. All the US military bases in Gulf countries have been hit and decommissioned. The US staff at these bases have left after the attacks, sustaining heavy losses, and the US allies in the Gulf have been left on their own to cope with the incoming missiles.
