'Last Man Standing in NA': PTI Leader Ali Muhammad Khan Arrested, Again
Former federal minister and national assembly member Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Ali Mohammad Khan was arrested on Tuesday. This is the sixth time he has been arrested since May 9.

The leader from Mardan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had filed a petition before an anti-terror court requesting bail in the terror case lodged against him.

The court granted him bail and ordered his release. But as soon as he exited the Mardan jail, where he was being detained, a squad of the anti-corruption department once again clasped handcuffs around his wrists and dragged him back into the jail on corruption charges.

His lawyer told the media that this is the sixth arrest of Ali Muhammad Khan, who had served as the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs from September 17, 2018, to April 10, 2022.

On June 22, the Additional Attorney General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had informed the Peshawar High Court that Ali Muhammad Khan was not wanted in any other case than the one pending against him.

The lawyer added that when the anti-corruption officials arrested Ali Muhammad Khan, they said a new case had been lodged against him just yesterday.

Earlier, Ali Muhammad Khan had been detained under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order and had obtained relief through courts in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar. He was subsequently arrested by the Mardan police in a terror case just as he was being released from the Peshawar Central Jail.

Just as the PTI exited the parliament in April 2022, after Imran Khan became the first prime minister in the country's history to lose a no-confidence motion, Ali Muhammad Khan remained in the NA to respond to the new government in charge.
