LOS ANGELES (October 2025) - Buffalo 8 has acquired the worldwide rights to JUJJI, a searing Pakistani crime thriller from director Habib Shahzad and writer Ahmad Umar Ayaz, produced by BHM Films in collaboration with Yūgen Studios and Lollipop. The acquisition accompanies the exclusive release of the official trailer — offering an intense first look at one of Pakistan’s most daring and internationally resonant films to date.
JUJJI will be available On Demand in the U.S. and U.K. on November 21, 2025, across Amazon and Verizon Fios/Vubiquity, with a global release date to follow.

Starring Muhammad Arsalan in the chilling title role, alongside Mustafa Rizvi (SI Naveed) and Anjum Habibi (Constable Arshad), JUJJI is a gripping portrait of urban decay, moral ambiguity, and redemption. Set against the gritty streets of Rawalpindi, the neo-noir thriller follows two police officers — one idealistic, one cynical — as they pursue a brutal serial killer known only as “Jujji.” As their hunt intensifies, personal demons blur the line between justice and vengeance, exposing deep moral fractures within both men and the system they serve.

Developed over two years, JUJJI began as a grassroots vision to bring the stories of Rawalpindi to the global stage. What began as a local indie project has grown into a polished thriller that blends noir influences with distinctly South Asian depth-reflecting both the challenges and triumphs of Pakistan’s independent filmmaking scene. The film premiered at the Gandhara Independent Film Festival 2024, where it won Best Feature Film, and went on to earn Best Feature Film at the Punjab Police Film Festival 2024, with an official selection at the Divvy Film Festival 2024.

“JUJJI is not just a film — it’s a statement that Pakistani cinema can take risks and still resonate globally,” said Habib Shahzad, the film’s director. “We wanted to capture the essence of Rawalpindi while making it universally human. It’s a deeply personal journey that became a collective one for our team — and we hope, for audiences everywhere.”
Nikki Stier Justice, Head of Distribution at Buffalo 8 adds, “From the first screening, JUJJI stood out as a bold, genre-defying thriller that merges authentic South Asian storytelling with the universal appeal of true-crime cinema. It’s the kind of film that challenges conventions while signaling the exciting global evolution of independent filmmaking.”
