Imran Gets Relief In Five Terrorism Cases As Bail Extended
The LHC on Friday extended PTI chairman Imran Khan's protective bail in five terrorism cases, wherein he faces the charges of attacking courts and law enforcers, vandalism, and impeding the courts' process.

A two-member bench comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Shaikh and Justice Anwar Hussain accepted the former premier's plea and extended his protective bail until March 27.

During the hearing, the PTI chief came to the rostrum and recalled how he could not reach the Judicial Complex for a hearing on March 18 as stones were pelted and shells were fired.

"My life was in danger, despite all effort, I couldn't reach the court," he said.

The government's counsel implored the court to ask the accused to pursue his case with the Islamabad court. However, the LHC overruled the objection and adjourned the hearing till the given date.

Earlier today, a Islamabad court converted non-bailable arrest warrants against Imran into bailable warrants in the case lodged against him for allegedly threatening a woman judge.

The police said that the demonstrators used vandalism and arson in addition to attacking law enforcement personnel who were doing their job to keep the federal capital lawful and orderly.

According to the FIR, PTI workers damaged a police checkpoint and smashed down the judicial complex’s main gate. It said that up to 18 people were detained for setting the complex's building on fire, throwing stones at it, and resorting to vandalism.

At least two police cars, seven motorbikes, and the station house officer's (SHO) official vehicle were all destroyed, it added.
