It is no secret that Pakistan lags behind the world and Pakistani women bear the brunt of it but there are people like Nighat Dad who have worked tirelessly to close the gender gap in Pakistan and ensure the digital realm remains a safe space for minorities and women.
Dad is one of two people invited to represent Pakistan at the World Economic Forum in Davos. She shared highlights of her talk on her twitter account:
It was an honour to speak at #WEF23 on Digital Rights and Inclusion. I highlighted the importance of a digital rights approach to development agendas around the Fourth Industrial Revolution but also shed light on the global disparities on how these rights are experience. #YGL23 pic.twitter.com/HBk0wgcLvE

Speaking of solutions to safeguard digital rights and ensure inclusion, I highlighted different regulatory models to hold platforms accountable but how not to lose sight of the importance of self-regulatory mechanisms in these discussions. @YGLvoices #Davos #WEF23 #YGL23 pic.twitter.com/KOawreiXux
