Not Much Time: Finance Minister Miftah Ismail Hints At Early Exit
Finance Minister Miftah Ismail on Friday said that the government has 13 months till general elections, but he may not have that much time.

Addressing an event at the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in Karachi, Miftah said that he did not know how long he will continue as finance minister.

He, however, said that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would stay for 6.5 years after winning the next general election.

Miftah's comments come amid speculation that the PML-N is considering to replace him with former finance minister Ishaq Dar, who is currently based in London.

PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had recently left a meeting midway following a disagreement over petrol prices. The former prime minister was reportedly unhappy with the finance minister's decision to hike fuel prices.
