Body Of Missing Tourist Bushra Samoi Recovered Four Months After Swat Boat Tragedy

The body of tourist Bushra Samoi, who had gone missing in Lake Saifullah in the tourist area of Kalam in Upper Swat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was recovered after more than four months near Mahodand Lake. She has been identified.

According to Upper Swat Police, a body was recovered from the Mahodand area, which was later identified as Bushra Samoi, the tourist who went missing in the boat accident at Lake Saifullah on July 1. The body has been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kalam to complete legal and medical formalities.

The family of Navy Commander (Retd) Aamir Hindal met with an accident on July 1 when their boat capsized after its engine stopped, in which seven members of the same family lost their lives. The bodies of six persons were recovered and shifted to their native village, while the body of tourist Bushra Samoi was found on November 4 and shifted to her native village.

The deceased included the daughters, son, and young grandson and granddaughter of Navy Commander (Retd) Aamir Hindal.

Naveed Cheema, the brother-in-law of Pakistan Navy Commander Aamir Hindal who died in the boat sinking incident at Lake Saifullah in Kalam, had submitted an application to former District Police Officer Upper Swat Mushtaq Khan, stating that Aamir Hindal and his family were murdered under a well-planned conspiracy by his nephew Hasnat and others due to a family property dispute.

In the application, Naveed Cheema, an officer of a Navy, stated that Aamir Hindal's programme to visit Kalam was made suddenly, so how did his nephews reach Kalam earlier? Who had informed them that Aamir was going to Kalam for tourism with his family? He alleged that Aamir Hindal and his family were killed under a conspiracy to occupy their property.

Regarding Naveed Cheema's application, we had also confirmed with former DPO Upper Swat Mushtaq Khan, who confirmed receipt of the application and had also ordered a formal inquiry. However, DPO Upper Swat Mushtaq Khan had said that no such evidence has been found in the case so far, but we will investigate in a transparent manner.

The Upper Swat Development Authority arrested the boat operator for further investigation.
