Lashing out at the opposition leaders once again during a rally in Karachi, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari would be his ‘next target’, adding that his ‘gun’ was now aimed at the former president.

“Now my first target, who has been under my radar for a long time, is Asif Ali Zardari”, the prime minister said, accusing him of a litany of misdeeds, including using police and ‘thugs’ to get people killed, as well as theft, corruption and money laundering abroad.

The prime minister said that the former president had attempted to buy the support of members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sharing that “an MNA of mine told me he was offered Rs.200 million [to support the opposition]”.

“Asif Zardari your time has come”, the prime minister forewarned.

During his speech, the premier also called Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N)  President Shehbaz Sharif a showbaaz (braggart) and “boot polisher“.

“Your time has come as well. You know that after the next three months you will be in jail,” the premier said, addressing the PML-N leader.

Next, he mocked Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, of whom he said “Listen Fazlu — because calling him a maulana (scholar) is a sin”.

PM Imran was in town to meet with with PTI allies, including the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), as well as party leaders in Sindh, following the oppositions submission of a no-confidence motion to the National Assembly Secretariat on Tuesday.
