Qandeel Baloch not allowed to meet Imran Khan
According to Dunya (May 2, 2016) social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch began to weep (phoot phoot kay ronay lageen) when she was not allowed to meet Imran Khan at his rally in Lahore. She had spent Rs 30,000 to come all the way from Karachi, and had dressed up for the occasion, but to no avail (tyari dhari reh gayee). She became angry (ghazabnak) when she was told she needed a pass to meet the PTI chief.
Woman raids husband’s second wedding
Reported in Nawa-e-Waqt (May 3, 2016) a Multani man’s secret second wedding plan proved costly (mehnga parr gya) when his first wife attacked the wedding (dhawa bol dya). She grabbed the groom and pulled off his garlands and called the police, who took him into custody.
Polio team attacked with knives
Dunya reports (May 4, 2016) three women polio workers were attacked with knives in Sadiqabad, and were only let go after the people of the neighborhood intervened. They had knocked at the door of a house asking for the children in the household to be vaccinated. A man came out and began to abuse them. He attacked the team and several women joined him.

Express reports (May 5, 2016) a 62-year-old father of 9 married a 60-year-old mother of four in Gujranwala. Their 13 children took part in the celebrations (jashn manaya).
Bicycle challan ‘makes history’ in Peshawar
Jang claims (May 6, 2016) a traffic warden in Peshawar made history (nayee tareekh raqam kar dee) when he fined a cyclist for going the wrong way up a one-way road. He was fined Rs 100. This is the first time in Peshawar’s history that a traffic warden has fined a bicyclist.

Railways officers wrestle it out
According to Dunya (May 7, 2016) two senior officers of Pakistan Railways began to wrestle (gutham gutha) after an argument at their office in Lahore. After a quarrel, they held each other by the collar and beat each other up (hatha pai). Other officers intervened to resolve the matter.
Angry forsaken lover blames lawyers
Jang reports (May 7, 2016) during the hearing of a love marriage case in Lahore High Court, when a girl changed her statement and asked to go home with her parents, the boy became so angry he pointed a gun at the lawyer in the court premises and began to abuse lawyers. Some lawyers beat him up (thukai) and turned him over to the police.
Security guard teaches harasser a lesson
A woman security guard at a hospital in Gujranwala caught hold of a man and slapped him around (thaprron say tawazo ki) who tried to harass her (chhair chhaar), reports Nawa-e-Waqt (May 7, 2016). He began to beg for forgiveness. Other guards turned him over to the administration. They let him go after he assured them he would never do such a thing again.
Actors fight on stage over political differences
Reported in Nai Baat (May 8, 2016) an actor who is an active member of the PTI became angry when his fellow actor, who supports the PML-N, criticized Imran Khan during a play at Lahore’s Mehfil Theater. The two began to fight on the stage (gutham gutha). Other actors had to intervene (beech bachao) and reconciled them.
