Son Allegedly Kills Mother Over Drug Money In Badin Village

In a tragic incident, a man killed his mother after she reportedly refused to give him money to buy narcotics for consumption in village Urs Malah, district Badin, the other day.

Close relatives of the deceased, Allah Bachai Malah, disclosed that her son, Waseem Malah, was addicted to crystal meth, locally known as Ice, and had demanded money from her. When she refused, he got infuriated and attacked her with a hatchet, killing her on the spot.

Local residents informed the police about the incident, following which a strong contingent of Badin Police arrived at the crime scene. Police later arrested the accused along with the weapon.An FIR of the incident has been registered at the local police station on the complaint of the deceased’s brother.

According to local sources, drug addiction has alarmingly increased among youth in the districts of lower Sindh, including Badin, Sujawal, Thatta, Tando Muhammad Khan and Hyderabad, with no effective measures taken by police to curb the menace.
