Eid Mobarak meray aziz humwatno. Sad to say, Pakistan has been flooded again. Sadder to say, this happened while we were on holiday – me in Holy Land, Shbaz Saab in Eng Land. Vaisay, women of Holy Land and Eng Land think same to same. I mean to say that we were in Brighton in hot summer last year. Sister from Holy Land in head to toe black abaya was also there. Stunning blonde in bikini + sunglasses also was. Blonde said about Sister, “everything covered but her eyes. What a cruel, male-dominated culture!” Sister said about blonde, “nothing covered but her eyes. What a cruel, male-dominated culture!”
In Holy Land, I also met Al-King. Nubian slave who guards his door is old friend. Ya habibi, he told me, I’ve taken a new wife. She says I’m a model for health & fitness broducts. Of course, I said, you’re the guy on the “Before” pictures. Nubian slave drew his sword. I wonder why.
As far floods, you may ask why we don’t do something institutional and lasting to prevent annual deluge, hain ji? Don’t ask me. There’s a limit to what one man can do. Because this is government by one man, not by empowered cabinet of ministers. Don’t get me wrong. There’s no lack of talent on my backbenches but haw I can share power with anyone, hain ji? If only I was concerned with my legacy, and my good name – then I would have assembled the best talent in Pakistan, empowered them and delegated authority to deliver good governance to the poor, benighted people of this land. But if I do that, then Muslim League will become like Conservative or Labour party, self-governing and self-regulating. It will not remain my personal jagir. That cannot be alloyed, hain ji?
So, guzara karo, meray aziz humwatno. Guzara karo.
Good news is that I have learnt another life lesson. I went to a funeral the other day and fainted four men in their 80s. Thing is, when I was a young buoy, old people at weddings would poke me and say, “you’re naxt”. Naw, I poke old people at funerals and say, “you’re naxt”.
