I’m furious at some people who are trying to get rid of my anointed lieutenant in the Punjab. When I confronted them, they said they were only trying to help the oppressed gentleman.

They said, he is after all, “the most bullied person in Pakistan who has to follow orders from so many centers of power”. They said they had vowed to put an end to his suffering “before the year is out”. They further said, “our heart goes out to him. We have been trying to end his suffering ever since he was forced into this office. He has been carrying a terrible burden for two whole years, a burden far too heavy for his frail shoulders. Many of our operatives and instruments have been working day in and day out to relieve him of his anguish and conclude the travails to which he has been subject for two unending painful years.”

I told them they were mistaken and that my chosen lieutenant was quite happy doing what I have ordered him to do and serving in the place I have chosen for him. They said, “We beg to differ kind sir. Please put a hand on your heart and ask yourself if indeed your lieutenant is not the target of the most vicious bullying in the country and therefore the most persecuted human being in Pakistan. Nay, sir, let us all have mercy on the gentleman and send him back to his beautiful home and hearth, from whence he was uprooted so unpredictably back in 2018.”

When I further demurred, they went on, “O Remarkable Sir, we realize that you lack empathy. We know that the milk of human kindness does not run in your veins. We know well your wonderfully thoughtless and callously beautiful nature but the fact is that you cannot fully comprehend his suffering. But even as a completely insensitive human being, it should devastate you to learn of his torment. It’s now up to us to rescue him. We would urge you to join us in our mercy mission.”
