Residents of Dubai got a chance to experience the Coke Studio magic in person with the first ever Coke Studio Live event that took place in the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Friday.

The lineup consisted of many big names from the most recent season of Coke Studio, which gave birth to hits such as Ali Sethi and Shae Gill’s Pasoori and Hassan Raheem and Justin Bibi’s Peeche Hutt. Faisal Kapadia, Young Stunners and Karakoram were also in attendance.

Next up were performances by the band Karakoram, who sang two songs, one of them with veteran musician Faisal Kapadia, who was one half of the duo that made up the beloved band Strings. After performing with Karakoram, Kapadia then performed with the Young Stunners, after which he treated the audience to a solo performance of two of his most popular songs Dhaani and Duur.

A surprise performance by Zulfiqar ‘Xulfi’ Jabbar Khan left the crowd reeling, and everybody sang along as he performed his hit song Laree Chooti. And then Ali Sethi took the stage and performed a couple of his own songs before finally performing the track everyone had been waiting for: Pasoori. Alongside Shae Gill, the two performed the song twice, the second time with all the other musicians on stage with them.
