The Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PAKMMAF) successfully hosted the PAKMMAF Contender Series, a one-day, 12-fight event designed to strengthen Pakistan’s athlete development pathway and prepare the country’s top mixed martial artists for international competition. The Contender Series brought together Pakistan’s leading IMMAF athletes alongside the nation’s brightest emerging talent, creating a high-performance platform that bridges domestic competition with the IMMAF World Championships and professional MMA.
The event featured standout performances from Maliha Ali, Manesha Ali, Rashid Gujjar, and Aurangzeb Ahmed, with the winners continuing their preparations for upcoming international competitions. Maliha, Manesha and Rashid now focus on the IMMAF World Championships in Georgia, while Aurangzeb Ahmed will represent Pakistan at the IMMAF Youth World Championships in Abu Dhabi.
The event also marked an important milestone for Pakistan’s IMMAF medallists, providing a platform for Asian and World Championship athletes to begin building their professional records as they transition towards international organisations such as BRAVE Combat Federation, UAE Warriors, and other leading promotions.
Speaking after the event, PAKMMAF President Omar Ahmed said:

The event also highlighted Pakistan MMA’s continued investment in youth development, with the federation preparing to send athletes to the IMMAF Youth World Championships for the first time, further strengthening its long-term athlete development programme. The Contender Series received extensive national media coverage, was broadcast live across multiple television and digital platforms, and generated millions of social media views, reflecting the rapid growth and popularity of MMA in Pakistan.
PAKMMAF also acknowledged the continued support of Activit and Dr Rizwan Aftab, whose commitment to athlete development continues to play an important role in helping Pakistani fighters compete and succeed on the international stage. As Pakistan MMA continues to expand its athlete pathway, the Contender Series establishes itself as a key platform for identifying future IMMAF champions and preparing the next generation of professional fighters.
