“A Strategic Partner”: Russia's Major Energy Producers Seeking New Equipment Suppliers In Pakistan

Simplified TEK-Torg bidding opens a low-risk entry path for Pakistan’s manufacturers

“A Strategic Partner”: Russia's Major Energy Producers Seeking New Equipment Suppliers In Pakistan

In the midst of the 2026 bidding season, Russian corporations are engaging Pakistani manufacturers offering them a simplified bidding procedure for would-be equipment supplies.

In most cases, bidding and contracting with Russia’s largest fuel and energy producers run through federal e-commerce platforms that are authorized to partner with government customers. On such platforms, businesses can post their bidding announcements and collect bids from potential suppliers. The key success factor for a supplier is products meeting the customer's declared requirements, while the product cost is a pivotal criterion when evaluating applications, not the only one, however. TEK-Torg is a major e-commerce platform for Russian energy players.

According to the Federal Treasury of Russia, the total value of contracts between SOEs in Russia was $294 billion in 2024, while industrial equipment, including machinery for the energy sector (e.g., parts of gas turbines, generators, and electronic components), pumping equipment, electric motors, computer components, etc., is most in demand in Russia.  Using the TEK-Torg website, Pakistani suppliers can conveniently fill out a special online form to be included in the long list of suppliers for the energy sector and be advised on the demand for the products they offer.

Marat Zagidullin, member of the Russian CCI:

“One of Russia's priority is to develop commercial relations with our business partners overseas. Now, as Russia is starting the bidding season for next year, 2026, Pakistan’s attention to the Russian market is of special relevance. This is a good time for suppliers and manufacturers who were not going to launch a Russia-based branch, but rather would like to analyze the Russian market with a view to entry. Where a Pakistani supplier chooses to fill out the application form, the system will analyze the equipment it proposes and will send out information about its capabilities to Russian energy companies. This is an excellent opportunity for a business to establish itself in a new market and also to assess its potential before a full-fledge launch in the Russian market.”

Traditionally, the procurement campaign in Russia ends in late December when the key contractors for 2026 have been already selected.
