A teacher at Nusrat Jehan Academy (NJA) has been arrested following an investigation into child pornography, which has since unearthed harrowing new allegations of systemic abuse spanning over a decade. Usman Ahmad, a long-serving teacher at the institution, is now accused of grooming and sexually abusing hundreds of students.
The allegations came to light through a detailed account from a former student, who described a pattern of predatory behaviour targeting children, primarily those in 6th and 7th grades, between the ages of 11 and 13. According to the witness, Ahmad used his position to befriend students, presenting himself as a "cool uncle," and lured them to private tuition sessions at his home in the Dar-ul-Rehmat neighbourhood with promises of exam tips and advance access to test papers.
The witness also alleged that Ahmad exploited his role as a badminton coach to inappropriately touch students during evening practices. Even more disturbing were the accounts of organised trips to a local farmhouse, where Ahmad and another teacher, referred to as "Sir A," would allegedly take turns abusing children. The witness described these outings as "planned events."
Despite reports made to the NJA principal and other school authorities, no action was taken against Ahmad, allowing the abuse to continue unchecked for years. "He preyed on kids who were too young to understand what was happening and too afraid to speak up," the witness stated.
Ahmad has been teaching at NJA since at least 2011. Based on the witness's account, he may have tutored between 10 to 20 students per year, with the witness personally aware of at least 4 to 8 victims during their short time at the school. Over his 14-year tenure, the estimated number of victims could range from 56 to 112, though the actual figure may be higher.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has arrested Ahmad in connection with the creation and distribution of child pornography. However, his alleged accomplice, Sir A, has not yet been included in the investigation. There has been no confirmation that either individual has been dismissed from their position at the academy.
The case has sparked outrage and calls for a thorough investigation into the school's handling of the allegations and the potential complicity of other staff members. Authorities are urging other potential victims or witnesses to come forward as the investigation continues.
