The usual mantra
Our mole reports that on The Great Khan’s last trip to Takht Lahore, he presided over a cabinet meeting, as usual. A smart young minister made a slick presentation which basically ended with the usual mantra, “the exchequer is bankrupt. It’s all Nawaz Sharif’s fault”. The Great Khan paused for a moment and then asked the minister why he never issued such statements in public. The minister was flummoxed and had no reply. The Khan went on, apparently, and asked him if he was being cautious in his statements because he was hedging his bets, hinting at the minister’s family’s habit of switching to the winning side, at an opportune time. Observers say this exchange may have put paid to the minister’s chances of replacing the current incumbent of Takht Lahore.
Factions
It’s no secret that The Man of Steel’s party is riven with factionalism, although on the face of it, the bulk of the Party is a united front before the onslaught from various quarters. We hear AI, aka Bunny Rabbit, was entrusted with the task of organizing the Party afresh. After a few forays in that direction, he gave up and told the leadership that there were at least two large factions in every province, following the divide in La Familia, and organizing the group in the current circumstances was an impossible task. There’s also a growing demand for transparent elections within the Party, and this is being articulated by many of those who are in the clink, serving time for their unbending stance.
