The former Punjab and KP chief ministers may be next in line to quit Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, according to anchorperson Ajmal Jami.

The journalist added that the resignations may surface in the final phase of the party members jumping ship.

In a podcast on Thursday, Jami said the difference will be that the former chief ministers may bring forth some sort of evidence against the former premier.

He further said that President Arif Alvi may not part ways with PTI or Imran Khan, but may stop impeding the decisions related to the former ruling party.

Earlier today, another PTI leader, former lawmaker Maleeka Bokhari announced to quit the party, shortly after her release from the Adiala Jail.

“Everyone may have their own reasons for leaving the party. As a patriot, I cannot stand with whatever happened [on May 9], that is why I am leaving PTI,” she told media persons.

A day earlier, party stalwart Fawad Chaudhry announced to part ways with Imran Khan, and said he had resigned from the party position.

“Ref. My earlier statement where I unequivocally condemned 9th May incidents, I have decided to take a break from politics,” he said in a tweet.

“Therefore, I have resigned from party position and parting ways from Imran Khan,” he added.

Hours after Fawad’s presser, senior leader Asad Umar announced to resign as PTI’s secretary general.

“I have only resigned from the party position and the core committee,” Umar said while addressing a presser following his release from Adiala Jail.

On Tuesday, senior leader Shireen Mazari announced to quit the party and “active politics”, a day after she was taken into custody from outside Adiala Jail after she was released on court orders in another case.
