Gujranwala, Pakistan: Law students from the Gujranwala Campus of the University of the Punjab achieved a rare distinction by securing Best Memorial awards for both Appellant and Respondent at Boston Innovation International Moot 2026 held virtually in Boston, United States.
The team comprising of Jannat Majid and Sidra Abdul Khaliq was the only Pakistani representation among 15 international teams, competing alongside Indian, Chinese, Italian, South African and other foreign universities. The students’ written memorials were awarded 92/100 marks each, while Sidra Abdul Khaliq achieved oral preliminary round scores of 89/100, placing the team among the highest-performing participants.
The team prepared without institutional sponsorship, relying on independent preparation and mentorship. Advocate Ahsan Ali Cheema provided guidance in extensive research strategy, argument structuring, and memorial refinement.
“This result demonstrates the immense potential of students from Pakistan’s public universities,” said Martha Maria Lui, Chief Organizer of BIIM 2O26.
