Reference To Be Filed Against Judge For ‘Facilitating’ May 9 Vandals
The Punjab interim government has decided to file a reference against a judge for providing illegal facilitation to the accused who attacked a military installation in Faisalabad during the May 9 riots.

It has also been decided that the verdict of the judge, in which he illegally and unconstitutionally facilitated the miscreants, will also be challenged in court.

While presiding over a high-level meeting, Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that providing facilitation to the May 9 vandals is equivalent to the murder of justice.

During the meeting, the developments regarding legal proceedings against the miscreants involved in the May 9 riots were reviewed.

Naqvi approved awarding cash prizes to informers who would give leads about the vandals involved in attacking state property and military sites.

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that providing facilitation to the May 9 vandals is equivalent to murdering justice.

He announced that a negotiation team, headed by Commissioner Lahore Division, would visit PTI Chief Imran Khan’s Zaman Park residence.

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi ordered strict action against those involved in riots as per law. He also directed the commissioner concerned and RPOs to conduct meetings on a daily basis to review the process of prosecution against miscreants.

He also instructed the police to ensure the arrest of vandals as soon as possible. He stated that those who attacked state property and military installations deserved no leniency.

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi said that May 9 is a ‘black chapter’ in the history of Pakistan, adding that the riots were preplanned.

He said that the miscreants are being identified and arrested through geo-fencing, human intelligence, social media, and NADRA.

The meeting was attended by caretaker Information Minister Amir Mir, Police IG, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional Chief Secretary, Law Secretary, CCPO Lahore, and Commissioner Lahore. All divisional commissioners and RPOs joined the meeting through a video link.
