Two Soldiers Martyred In Bara IED Blast
An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near a military vehicle on patrol in the Malakdin Khel area in Bara tehsil of Khyber tribal district yesterday afternoon (Saturday April 8). In the explosion, two soldiers were martyred while another four were reported to be injured, one of whom was said to be in critical condition.

The martyrdom of the two soldiers was confirmed by state broadcaster Pakistan Television (PTV) in the evening.

Two non-commissioned officers (NCOs) of the Pakistan Army - Naib Subedar Hazrat Gul from Lower Dir and Sepoy Nazir Ullah Mehsud from South Waziristan - embraced martyrdom in the service of Pakistan. Gul was 37 years old, while Mehsud was 34.

The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for what its spokesman said was a mine attack, and estimated that eight personnel in the 'double-cabin' military vehicle, including a subedar, were killed and another two were wounded.
