PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday rejected the SC verdict in the Punjab elections case, urging the masses to rise against it.
"Why is so much effort being made to bring one man to power again," the three-time prime minister asked while talking to journalists, in London.
He added that the people must rise against the decision because "these people are destroying the country."
The PML-N leader went on to add that a reference should be filed against the three judges with the Supreme Judicial Council as the decision is a charge-sheet against themselves. "The bench refused to accept a majority decision."
"This isn’t a decision, but a one-man show", he said. "One man assumed the role of all institutions and the state was paralysed for a blue-eyed man."
He observed that the decision had also brought a bad name for the Parliament. “They [judges] gave no thought to the fact that the Parliament passed a bill a few days ago.”
However, Nawaz maintained, Parliament should re-assert itself. "It must do so if Pakistan is to progress."
The party supremo questioned the “double standards” of justice, saying “When it was a case against us, we were ousted within minutes.”
To a question, he recalled that Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan had always decided their cases against him and his party. “Why would they do otherwise, now?”

Nawaz recalled that the same judiciary allows dictators to amend and interpret the Constitution as per their will.
Earlier today, the Supreme Court declared the Election Commission of Pakistan's decision regarding the postponement of elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till October as null and void.
A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial and including Justices Ijaz Ul Ahsan and Munib Akhtar, announced the decision.
In its ruling, the Supreme Court deemed the election body’s decision to hold elections on October 8 “unconstitutional” and mandated that they take place on May 14 in Punjab.
The ruling also stated that the Punjab government shall provide the Election Commission with a security plan. It further stated that a report on the electoral personnel should be submitted to ECP by April 10 by the caretaker government and chief secretary of Punjab.
