The Taliban are fully committed and prepared to launch attacks on police at the behest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former premier Imran Khan, who has openly declared the police top command as his enemy in his speeches, claimed journalist Imran Shafqat.

In a recent vlog on his YouTube channel, the journalist said that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) had issued an alert that 25 suicide bombers from militant organizations have entered Lahore with the intention of targeting police.

He said that the Taliban are the militant wing of the PTI, and it is expected that they will attack the police, IG, CCPO, and personnel to demonstrate their support for Imran Khan. In 2014, during sit-ins, Imran Khan used to threaten the then-police chief by saying that he would hang him to death with his own hands. But since the establishment was with Imran Khan at that time, no action was taken against him for that open challenge to the law enforcement chief.

Now, Imran Khan is again hurling threats at the top of the police hierarchy and challenging them, saying that he will take strict action against them after attaining power in the upcoming elections. Moreover, he is also warning the police high-ups that he will report the use of force against him and his party leaders and workers to international human rights organizations.

He further added that Imran Khan has no threats from the Taliban as he enjoys extremely friendly relations with them. He said that the reason for Khan’s healthy relations with the Taliban is that the PTI chief was afraid of them from the beginning and opted to be their friend rather than their enemy, adding that it is his strategy to avoid confrontation with them.

The journalist said that Imran Khan is the political face of the Taliban. In the past, he demanded office for them, and they nominated Imran Khan as their representative for peace talks.

He also claimed that the judiciary is doing favors for Imran Khan because of the involvement of Lieutenant General (retired) Faiz Hameed in managing judges. He said that since Lt Gen (r) Faiz recently left the service, he has strong relations with serving officers. Many were his coursemates, roommates, and subordinates. He added that Lt Gen (r) Faiz believes in being loyal to friends and harming enemies. He said that Gen (r) Faiz should be held accountable for his alleged involvement in managing the judiciary so that the system may work properly.

Journalist Imran said that former army chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa has named Justice Bandial, Justice Ijazul-Ahsan, Justice Mazahar, and Justice Muneeb Akhtar, and the confessional statement of former Punjab chief minister Pervez Elahi’s close aide Muhammad Khan Bhatti are all tactics to manage the judiciary by giving them the message that evidence against their ill-doings is preserved.

He further said that Imran Khan is trying to give the impression that his life is in danger, and he is doing politics in this narrative. He added that former prime minister Benazir Bhutto was under direct threats from the Taliban, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has recently received threats from the Taliban, and Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman has survived attacks three times.

He said that Imran Khan is doing all this to scandalize state institutions. He repeatedly named ‘dirty Harry” in his speeches, but no one actually knows to whom he refers with this name, adding that this is an attack on Pakistan.
