Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that parliament is tasked with advising the government on a variety of issues and will now need to step in to prevent attempts to instigate an administrative crisis in the country.
Without naming anyone, the federal minister said during a speech on a resolution about law and order at the National Assembly on Wednesday that "one person [Imran Khan] is trying to cause law and order problems along with his group."
He said that attempts are being made to instigate political and administrative issues in the country, and the parliament should fight to thwart these efforts while providing guidance for resolving the economic crisis.
The minister said that, in accordance with the Constitution that was created by the aforementioned parliament, the parliament is the highest institution and that other institutions have their own purviews, mandates, and powers.
He added that one institution—the parliament—could rewrite the Constitution and alter the degree to which other institutions are able to exercise their jurisdiction.
He further said that parliament should address the whole issue and provide guidance to all institutions on their essential tasks. Although there isn't currently a political or administrative crisis, efforts are being made to create one that should be stopped, he stressed.
Sanaullah said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had been causing disorder and instability in the country for the previous ten years. The 126-day sit-in, the vulgar language used in speeches, disregard for the legislature, lengthy marches, and protests from 2013 to 2018 were all intended to bring about instability in the country, he continued.
Moreover, he claimed that elections were manipulated in order to put Imran Khan in power in 2018.
Rana Sanaullah said that Imran Khan attempted to marginalize the opposition and turned down Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto’s requests for collaboration to help the nation overcome obstacles.
