Hassaan Niazi Sent To Jail on 14-Day Judicial Remand
A district and sessions court of Islamabad has sent Hassaan Niazi, PTI chairman Imran Khan's nephew, to jail on 14-day judicial remand in a case related to misbehavior with police personnel.

During the hearing, the duty magistrate rejected police's request to extend Niazi's physical remand, and said that the LEA has failed to recover anything from the suspect.

Subsequently, the court asked police to produce the accused on April 6.

On Monday, Niazi was held moments after securing a pre-arrest bail in three other cases. He was taken into custody as he left the Judicial Complex.

The new FIR, related to misbehaviour with the police personnel, was filed at the Ramna police station.

The report contains the offences of obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions, attempted murder, assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of their duties, mischief causing damage, and criminal intimidation.

According to police, when the personnel tried to stop Niazi's car, the driver tried to run over them. When stopped, the accused came out of the vehicle and verbally abused the personnel present. The FIR added that the accused then threatened to shoot the police personnel.

A day earlier, Lahore High Court withdrew its order restraining law enforcers from action against the PTI chairman.

During the hearing, LHC judge Tariq Saleem Shaikh remarked that the FIA and the police had submitted the details of the cases. Therefore, the stay order cannot be intact anymore, he added.

On the other hand, according to the document available with The Friday Times, the federal police have decided to arrest all Islamabad-based financiers of PTI. Initially, a list of 21 people has been prepared.

On Tuesday, LHC granted protective bail to Imran in terrorism and corruption cases lodged against him.
