Gen Bajwa Advising PM Shehbaz On Imran, Aides' Corruption, Claims Journalist
Former army chief General (retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa has become an ‘approver’ and 'unfolded his crime’ by informing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif "who got how much money from whom," and in return, he has secured ‘amnesty’ for him, claimed journalist Asad Ali Toor in his YouTube channel on Thursday.

The journalist said this is the reason why Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz is demanding a court martial of just former DG ISI Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed and not seeking any action against former army chief Bajwa.

He said that the government should seek an inquiry under Article 6 against Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed because he intervened in civilian affairs and broke his oath. But the Shehbaz-led government is not demanding this action because General (retired) Bajwa will also get affected in that process, he added.

The journalist said that the government knows the army as an institution will also mind prosecution against their former army chief, as the institution did in the Musharraf case. But prosecution against Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed is not a big issue, he added.

He also gave examples of how Lt Gen (retired) Javed Iqbal was prosecuted during Bajwa’s tenure and DG FC was court-martialed during Raheel Sahrif’s tenure.

Journalist Asad Ali Toor further said that Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed is now afraid of being court-martialed and has realized that he might get arrested; therefore, he has decided to push back and gave a hint that he will not be the only one to go jail.

According to Asad Ali Toor, Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed has opened up about the accusation of ousting then-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, saying he was DGC ISI at that time and it is not possible for a person of that rank (major general) to topple someone’s government singlehandedly.

The journalist said that Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed said that he was not solely responsible for all that and that he was just implementing the instructions of then-army chief General (retired) Bajwa, as it was Bajwa doctrine to topple the Nawaz government and bring Imran.

He stated that Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed is right here, adding that seeking court martial for just Faiz was not a fair demand.

While talking about the declaration of ‘Sadiq and ‘Amin’ given to Imran Khan, the journalist claimed that two lawyers wrote that verdict, and the army handed it over to the then-chief justice Saqib Nisar to announce it in court.

He said that Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed was likely to be punished for his alleged financial corruption by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) or the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). He further said that several retired army officers are afraid of this situation, as many have committed corruption during their tenure.

"Let’s see whether newly-appointed NAB Chairman Lt Gen (retired) Nazeer Butt will initiate action against Faiz Hameed or the army will do it by itself," he added.

He said that Lt Gen (retired) Faiz Hameed is facing severe corruption allegations, and his property in Chakwal, his brother’s assets, and his living style are enough to probe the matter.

Journalist Asad Ali Toor said that General (retired) Bajwa knows exactly how much corruption Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ministers committed during their regime.

He shared an incident to support his claim and said that once a bureaucrat told him that when PTI came into power, the bureaucracy was afraid to offer bribes to ministers because there was speculation that Imran Khan had selected honest candidates who would not tolerate corruption at all. In order to check their honesty and pave the way for financial mismanagement, bureaucrats started transactions of rupees worth one arab from this account to that account. When PTI ministers learned about it, they demanded a commission, and then the bureaucrats gave them a commission. He further said that the percentage of commission the PTI ministers were charging was higher than the rate charged by the ministers of previous governments.

The journalist said that former first lady Bushra Bibi took diamonds from Malik Riaz, owner of Bahria Town, through her close friend Farha Gogi, and in return, she played a role in regularizing housing societies in Punjab.

He said that former Supreme Court judge Azmat Saeed Sheikh, who became the board of director of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, played a key role in the approval of bills to regularize illegal land by giving a 2 percent commission.
