SHC Rejects Petition To Ban Aurat March, Fines Petitioner
Sindh High Court has rejected a petition against holding Aurat March in Karachi and slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on the petitioner.

The petitioner Bisma Noreen, alias Ameer Jahan, had filed a petition against Aurat March demanding a ban on the event since the slogans raised by the rally participants “are against the values of Pakistani society”.

Upon hearing all arguments, the court observed that there was nothing objectionable in the slogans, and adding that the Constitution of Pakistan grants freedom of movement to all citizens.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on Bisma Noreen and ordered that the petitioner’s national identity card (NIC) be blocked by NADRA in case of non-payment of the fine.

Aurat March is going to be held on Wednesday, 8 March across all major cities of the country.
