Amitabh Bachchan Recovering After 'Painful' Film Set Injuries
Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan is recovering from his injuries after an accident on a film set, on Monday.

Bachchan, 80, experienced a "painful" movement and difficulty in breathing when he tore a muscle and cartilage in his ribs while filming an action scene for his upcoming movie "Project K" in Hyderabad.

The actor wrote in his official blog that he was resting at his home in Mumbai, though conveying to his fans that it will take him a few weeks for a full recovery.

“It shall be difficult or let me say… I shall be unable to meet, the well wishers at Jalsa Gate this evening,” he wrote, referring to his weekly routine of meeting up his fans outside his home in the Juhu suburb.

“So do not come… and do inform as much as you can to those that intend [on] coming,” he added.

The actor suffered a life-threatening injury on set in 1982, with many of his fans going on hunger strike.

One fan was reported to have 'gone as far' to walk 482 kilometres (300 miles) backwards to pray for the actor's recovery.

A week ago, an anonymous caller warned Mumbai police about bombs being planted near the homes of billionaire industrialist Mukesh Ambani, and actors Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra.

The phone call was made to Mumbai’s Emergency Response Support System from an anonymous source, with the police informed about the potential threats in Juhu, Vile-Parle, and Gamdevi areas, India said.

Further, The Indian Express quoted a police officer as saying that the caller claimed the dispatching of 25 people in the Dadar of the metropolis to carry out further attacks.

In November last year, security was ramped up for Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher in view of the threats to their lives.

Khan was given a Y-plus security while Kumar and Kher received the X category status, to avert harm to them.

Khan has a total of 11 men for security, including at least one commando. Five personnel were deployed outside his residence while three Personal Security Officers (PSOs) accompany him.
