Maryam Says Elections Only after Nawaz's Convictions Are Overturned
Senior Vice President PML-N Maryam Nawaz made it clear on Monday that the elections can take place only after the "wrongful punishments" awarded to Nawaz Sharif are reversed and former premier Imran Khan is "brought to justice".

"Elections will definitely take place, but only after justice is served,” she told workers gathered in Sahiwal. "Justice needs to be served first".

Maryam, who is also the chief organiser of the party, dispelled the notion that the ruling party was afraid of elections, saying the PMLN is, in fact, running an electoral campaign. "We will win the elections with a significant majority".

Accusing the judiciary of having dual standards, she said, "While the hearings into the Panama case were held daily, proceedings of Imran Khan's cases are moving at a snail's pace".

The PMLN leader reiterated that the former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and ex-spy chief Faiz Hameed were still supporting the PTI chief "through their pawns".

The remnants of Faiz, she added, are protecting Imran Khan while he is in Chakwal, as former CJP Nisar is facilitating the ex-premier via his "henchmen".

On Feb 23, Maryam called the judges hearing the cases filed against ex-premier Imran Khan "remnants" of former lieutenant general Faiz Hameed.

“These judges have sprung into action again to give Imran Khan’s dying politics a new life,” Maryam told those in attendance in Sargodha on the occasion of the party’s workers’ convention.

“Mazahir Naqvi, Ijaz ul-Ahsan are the remnants of Faiz,” she said, and added, “In particular, Ijaz ul-Ahsan becomes part of every bench hearing a case against Nawaz Sharif".

According to Maryam, a senior PDM leader had told her that when he questioned Faiz on his campaign against Nawaz, he replied, “He [Nawaz] has grown out" and needs to be "cut to size".

“Since he wanted to become the COAS, he wanted a pawn to carry forward his agenda; he found Imran Khan".
