The year 2022 has been quite a rollercoaster for TV show enthusiasts with the release of several seasons and new shows that have knocked the wind out of our lungs. Here are the top ten shows of 2022.

  1. The Simpsons (Disney+)

Set in Springfield, an average American town, this TV show focuses on the antics and everyday adventures of the Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as a virtual cast of thousands. Since the beginning of series, it has been a pop culture icon, attracting hundreds of celebrities to star as guests. The show has also made a name for itself in its fearless satirical take on politics, media and American life in general.

  1. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (Amazon Prime)

Beginning in a time of relative peace, we follow an ensemble cast of characters as they confront the re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

  1. The Boys (Amazon Prime)

A group of vigilantes known informally as “The Boys” set out to take down corrupt superheroes working for a greedy, ruthless corporation with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.

  1. Grey’s Anatomy (Disney+)

Follows the personal and professional lives of a group of doctors at Seattle’s Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. Grey’s Anatomy has been an iconic part of the TV industry ever since its inception in 2005 and continues to be in the top 10 to this day.

  1. Reacher (Amazon Prime)

Jack Reacher was arrested for murder and now the police need his help. Based on the books by Lee Child. Reacher is a series continued after the movies done by Tom Cruise when he himself played Jack Reacher. Reacher is a former US Army Major in the Military Police who retired to an almost nomadic way of life in the United States.

  1. The Terminal List (Amazon Prime)

Navy SEAL Commander James Reece turns to vengeance as he investigates the mysterious forces behind the murder of his entire platoon. Free from the military’s command structure, Reece applies the lessons he’s learned from nearly two decades of warfare to hunt down the people responsible.

  1. Family Guy (Disney+)

Sick, twisted, politically incorrect and Freakin’ Sweet animated series featuring the adventures of the dysfunctional Griffin family. Bumbling Peter and long-suffering Lois have three kids. Stewie (a brilliant but sadistic baby bent on killing his mother and taking over the world), Meg (the oldest, and is the most unpopular girl in town) and Chris (the middle kid, he’s not very bright but has a passion for movies). The final member of the family is Brian – a talking dog and much more than a pet, he keeps Stewie in check whilst sipping Martinis and sorting through his own life issues.

  1. Bluey (Disney+)

Bluey is an inexhaustible six year-old Blue Heeler dog, who loves to play and turns everyday family life into extraordinary adventures, developing her imagination as well as her mental, physical and emotional resilience. While Bluey does not have a rotten tomatoes rating it does have an astonishing 9.7/10 on IMDB.

  1. The Peripheral (Amazon Prime)

Stuck in a small Appalachian town, a young woman’s only escape from the daily grind is playing advanced video games. She is such a good player that a company sends her a new video game system to test…but it has a surprise in store. It unlocks all of her dreams of finding a purpose, romance, and glamour in what seems like a game. But it also puts her and her family in real danger.

  1. Stranger Things (Netflix)

When Will Byer’s vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret government-sanctioned experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, and one strange little girl called Eleven who is the key to saving humanity from complete obliteration.
