Christian communities across Pakistan, and around the world, celebrated the grand festival of Christmas with passion and zeal on Sunday.
The President, Prime Minister and other Pakistani state officials also greeted the Christian community on this occasion. They lauded the contributions of Pakistani Christians in service to the country, and reaffirmed Pakistan’s diverse, multicultural ethos of which Christians continue to be an integral part.

Christmas represents a yearly opportunity for the Muslim-majority Pakistani nation to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood with its Christian and non-Muslim countrymen, and the festival is an occasion to promote tolerance & respectful coexistence between religious groups in Pakistan.

The foreign secretary cut a cake at a ceremony held at the foreign ministry in honor of Christian Pakistani diplomats and officials of the foreign service.

Special services were held in churches across the country. Prayers were offered for Pakistan’s peace, progress and prosperity, as well as for the safety and protection of all humankind from natural disasters and diseases.
Across Pakistan, cities were illuminated for Christmas festivities, as authorities look to attract tourists and restart economic activity through promoting a ‘soft image’ of the country.
