Daily Mail Apology Vindicates Us: Nawaz Sharif
Breaking his silence over the Daily Mail controversy on Saturday, PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif said the apology by the British publication over its 2019 piece had proven the innocence of those accused.

Speaking with reporters in London, he said that those accused by Chairman PTI Imran Khan of corruption had been "given certificates of their innocence from the courts and governments in London."

He added, "Then an apology is made from the newspapers here that 'forgive us, we published incorrect news'. Now tell me [if you can] see the difference yourself."

Nawaz went on to add that the accusations were made against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif "per the directions of Imran Khan and Shahzad Akbar".

On Thursday, the British newspaper served an apology for accusing Sharifs of misappropriating UK aid money.

In a note published under Clarifications and Corrections, the daily accepted that “Mr Sharif has never been accused by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of any wrongdoing in relation to British public money or DFID grant aid.”
