Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday invoked Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s famous remarks on civilian supremacy while ‘congratulating’ the new military leadership.

In a tweet posted the same day, Khan congratulated Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asim Munir and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) Sahir Sahmshad Mirza on being appointed against the top military positions. He said he hoped the two will strive to overcome the “trust deficit” prevailing between the State and the nation since eight months. State power, he said, was derived from that of the people.

“Congratulations to Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as new CJCSC & Gen Syed Asim Munir as new COAS. We hope new mly ldrship will work to end prevailing trust deficit that has built up in last 8 months between the nation and the State. Strength of the State is derived from its people.”

The PTI supremo shared a photo featuring Jinnah’s remarks reiterating civilian supremacy in his tweet. In his remarks, the founder of the country emphasised how the armed forces were “servants of the people”. “Do not forget that the armed forces are the servants of the people. You do not make national policy; it is we, the civilians, who decide these issues and it is your duty to carry out these tasks with which you are entrusted.”

Congratulations to Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as new CJCSC & Gen Syed Asim Munir as new COAS. Analyst Zaigham Khan said on Monday that Khan had failed to ramp up pressure on the establishment. While it earlier appeared that he held some sway over the judiciary, even that impression now seems to be untrue, Zaigham said. The analyst said Khan had similarly failed to mount pressure on the governing coalition.

Khan had announced on Saturday that all party lawmakers will abandon both: national and provincial assemblies. The PTI supremo made the remarks at a power show in garrison city Rawalpindi where the party’s long march for haqeeqi azadi — full sovereignty reached earlier. Khan’s address marks the first time he joined the march following the Wazirabad attempt at his life.

Narc has bigger working to coerce the new COAS to try to please him. Classic NFD.

Remember the solution his to completely ignore narc’s whining and set string boundaries. Never start a narc feed loop as you can never win.

Asim Munir ought to use a military grade psychologist unless he wants to end up like Bajwa and 4 others who binned their own reputations at his altar.

It’s time that deep state refrains from using social media to communicate or engage in politics. Not even ISPR should feel the urge to comment, consider or respond. Tactics is to gain attention and then play this game to keep the institution on tender hooks for furthering personal aims.

Chuck your phones away please and withdraw from this nonsense completely. Let others in politics deal with it. Apolitical means not having any role in politics. Security and constitutional duties should be prioritised. There are bigger security issues to worry about.

I thoroughly agreed with khuram Ayub. As everything has a limit, and this is the limit. Nation as a Pakistani, heigh and low ranks official, must do which is necessary. Media should play its due positive role, how good it would be if we focus on good news and make every effort to add something good in the present situation, even this can be done by staying quit. We all should realise that our reply on everything is not necessary. We all should show patience, ignorance, perseverance, as these are the best medicines these days. Do not discuss other, rather discuss your shortcomings on media, if you are so desperate to be vocal.

This not a conventional way of welcoming (COAS), referring “”Great Jinnah” words to advise a high rank official. No, not at all, I am not going to buy this at all. As this could ba a start of new REMAINDER to last eight months painful history.
    Regards.
