Former DG ISI General Faiz Hameed Officially Retires
Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed served as chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) between 2019 and 2021. Two days ago he had announced his plans to seek early retirement from service.

Tonight he rendered his formal resignation and it has been accepted by GHQ.

Lt Gen Faiz was among the six most senior generals considered for the posts of Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the chief of army staff.

General Faiz served as DG ISI under Imran Khan. Captain Safdar, the son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, told pressmen earlier in October that he will have to answer for the Panama Papers case against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo.
