'President Alvi And I Will Act Constitutionally After Receiving Summary': Imran Khan On COAS Appointment
Following the appointment of General Asim Munir as the new Chief of Army Staff, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has reportedly said that he and President Arif Alvi will act 'Constitutionally' when they receive the summary of the appointment.

Minutes after Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz had chosen General Asim Munir as the Chief of Army Staff, the official PTI Twitter account shared a statement from the chairman of the party.

"After the summary reaches us, President Alvi and I will act according to the Constitution and the laws," Imran Khan was quoted as saying.

This development comes a day after the former prime minister told reporters that President Alvi will have to consult him on the matter of the selection of the army chief, as soon as the summary of the appointment reaches his office.

"President Dr Arif Alvi will definitely consult me on the summary for the appointment of army chief and take a decision as per the law and Constitution. I am head of the party that Dr Alvi belongs to," he had insisted.
