Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is being rapped after footage of him giving a royal ignore to a child claiming to be a thalassemia patient surfaced on social media.

In the footage, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) vice chairman who is seen seated in a luxury SUV, is beseeched by the child. A man alongside can be heard telling the former foreign minister that the boy, a thalassemia patient, has come especially to meet PTI chairman Imran Khan. The tear-eyed boy then beseeches Qureshi to make him meet Khan once. “Please do so. Please. My name is Zubair,” he says with folded hands.

The unfazed PTI top leader is then seen rolling up his window as his vehicle drives onwards.

Netizens were quick to call out Qureshi’s ‘arrogance’ in the ensuing backlash.

Sindh Minister Taimur Talpur said the Almighty had doomed the PTI given the arrogance of its leaders. He said their arrogance and vanity would ensure they keep on meeting a similar fate.

Twitter user Ayesha Solangi called the former foreign minister the “worst” human. “The worst human being @SMQureshiPTI wish u the same fate wish U beg like this .. shame on u shame on ur life and shame the people who consider animal like u their leader …”

Activist Saif Ali Qureshi emphasised his “rudeness”. “A thalassemia patient who reached Zaman Park in search of help & to met IK expressing his pain with folded hands was not allowed, but seeing @SMQureshiPTI rudeness, you can imagine how much pain the PTI leadership has for the people, But wait for the Next  🔥  Jiye Bhutto ♥.”

The video is viral on social media, social media users are criticizing Shah Mehmood Qureshi for his behavior.#ShahMehmoodQureshi pic.twitter.com/UkXiTydzAb
