President Alvi Met COAS Bajwa On Snap Elections, Imran Says
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has claimed that President Arif Alvi had met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

On the agenda, he said, was the quick conduct of free-and-fair general elections, according to a Geo News report on Friday. The PTI supremo made the remarks in an informal meeting with journalists . He said the army chief should be appointed in a manner akin to how the top court chief justice was selected.

The PTI chief said the governing coalition was seeking to amend the Army Act to further their own ends. The proposed amendment he said can be challenged before superior courts. Imran also added how there was no truth in claims of him having met COAS Bajwa in Lahore.

The Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) was a partner of the the PTI, he said. Imran said ties with Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi were exemplary. The greatest hurdle in having an FIR of the Wazirabad attack registered, he said, was the former Punjab police chief.
