Modi Wants States Supporting Terror Penalised In Veiled Dig At Pakistan
India Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged states supporting terror as part of foreign policy be penalised in an "indirect reference to Pakistan", according to Hindustan Times.

He made the comments at the No Money For Terror third ministerial conference. The event has been organised by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs. India, he said, had been building momentum against terror while emphasising how organisations and individuals harbouring sympathy for terrorists must be isolated, according to the paper.

“...terrorist organisations get money through several sources. One source is state support. Certain countries support terrorism as part of their foreign policy. They offer political, ideological, and financial support to them,” Modi said.

The Indian prime minister said no outbreak of conventional warfare could not be equated with peace. “Proxy wars are also dangerous and violent.”

Ministers representing 20 states are attending the event. Neighbouring Pakistan and near-neighbour Afghanistan were not invited. China elected to not attend, according to the paper.
