Imran Was Leading Nation Astray, Would-Be Assassin Says
A man nabbed in connection with the Thursday assassination attempt at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said he wanted the party supremo dead since he had been leading the nation astray.

The suspect said he had spontaneously decided to attack the PTI chairman. He had undertaken the assassination attempt solely at his own accord. The suspect said music being played while the call to prayer was delivered used to infuriate him.

He said he had vowed to kill Imran since he did not remain a silent spectator as the PTI chairman led the nation astray. The suspect said he had only targeted Imran. He said he had pledged to kill the PTI supremo as he embarked on his long march to Islamabad from Lahore on Friday.
