'Frayed Establishment Ties Left PTI Intimidated'
Analyst Zaigham Khan said on Saturday that the response of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on chairman Imran Khan's arrests warrants being issued was representative of how intimidated the party felt.

Zaigham made the comments in flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay. He cited the party's frayed ties with the establishment as the reason behind this. Zaigham said warrants for Imran's arrest had been issued earlier too but he had then remained unfazed.

He questioned why a diplomat would be used to deliver a message to those 'neutral' when the Pentagon could very well establish direct contact with the GHQ.

Editor Amir Ghauri said since the PTI had been a favourite they were yet to bear the brunt of the State. He said since party prospects stood compromised they were presenting Imran as a red line. The PTI chairman's political career had now entered a difficult phase.

He said COAS Bajwa's trip to the United States may be his last. Amir said he may be visiting to stress the need for continued Pentagon-GHQ ties following his departure. He said the United States was actively striving to wean Pakistan off China.

Journalist Nadia Naqi said while the PTI was presenting itself as unfazed, it was time for the party to weigh its options. She said Imran's stature would rise in the wake of his warrants being issued.

Flagship Naya Daur TV show Khabar Say Aagay airs Monday-Saturday at 9pm.
