Russia Ready To Provide Petrol To Pakistan On Deferred Payments: Report
Russia has reportedly agreed to provide petrol to Pakistan on deferred payments.

According to reports published on Tuesday, the United States did not raise any objection over the proposed deal amid Pakistan's economic crisis.

The development comes days after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held three meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)'s summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

Matters related to oil, gas and wheat supplies to Pakistan from Russia were discussed during the meetings.

Earlier on Sunday, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that Russia has proposed to extend its gas pipeline infrastructure, which is in place till Central Asian states, to Pakistan through Afghanistan.

Talking about the meetings between Shehbaz and Putin, the minister said in a press conference that the two leaders also expressed commitment to expand bilateral cooperation between the two countries in all areas of mutual benefit.
