TGIF everybody, we made it through another week. Pat yourself on the back why don’t you? If you’re looking for a way to kick back and relax, don’t fret, we’ve got you. Here are The Friday Times’ top picks for what you should be seeing, hearing and doing this weekend. Check it out:

1 . Movie: Spirited Away

This haunting and moving Studio Ghibli movie will definitely get you feeling things. If you’re looking for an escape into an immersive world that both puts you on the edge of your seat and also makes you want to live there, look no further.

2. TV Show: House of the Dragon

Did you like Game of Thrones? Do you wish it had never ended and you could keep watching it forever and ever? Well, while that may not be possible, you can still revisit the world of Westeros. HBO’s new show, House of the Dragon is a prequel to the Game of Thrones series, and chronicles the Targaryen civil war that took place 200 years before the events in GoT.

3. Song: There’d Better Be A Mirrorball – Arctic Monkeys

The monkeys are back baby. They come out with a brand new album on October 21st, and the first single from their new album ‘The Car’ has been released already. It’s as groovy as ever, and Alex Turner still croons like no other. With a sound thats more reminiscent of their previous album than any of their older stuff, the album looks to be very interesting.

4. Book: ‘The Night In Her Hair’ by Huma Agha Abbas & Taiba Abbas

This beautiful book written by a mother-daughter duo revisits iconic and beloved folktales and breathes new life into them. It also made it to our Book Picks for the month: “Stunning prose accompanied by beautiful imagery as paintings, this book reminds us of those who fought for what are now considered forbidden dreams – the freedom to love and live.”

5. Activity: Attend the ‘Fatima Jinnah‘ screening at Olomopolo

Sundus Farhan, Sajal Aly, and Samiya Mumtaz play the mother of the nation Fatima Jinnah in three different stages of her life. Samiya Mumtaz as well as other members of the cast will be present at the screening too. And the best part? It’s a free event!
