On Monday, Punjab Chief Minister Parvez Elahi reassured the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan by assuring him that the Punjab government will make all security arrangements for Imran Khan’s safety and security.
Only a day before Imran Khan was booked in an anti-terrorism case and consequently there were nationwide demonstrations by PTI supporters. They also set up camps in Banigala where Khan resides. Later, the high court granted Khan bail and police protection was withdrawn by the government.
As per the statement issued by the PTI media cell post meeting, CM Elahi expressed “serious concerns” over the measures taken by the federal government against Imran Khan and vowed that the “Punjab government was with PTI in all circumstances”.
