Balochistan Flash Floods Leave Six Dead
Six people were killed in flash floods following heavy rain in several Balochistan districts on Saturday.

The number of rain-related deaths rose to 182 and many villages stood inundated, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).The authority said three dams were washed away and many roads destroyed in Qilla Abdullah. It added that rescue teams were engaging in relief activities across the affected areas.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had visited Quetta to review relief operations in Balochistan last week. During his visit to a tent city set up for rain-affected citizens in Qila Saifullah district, the prime minister had directed the provincial administration to take action against those responsible for failing to provide people with basic necessities. The PM had directed the concerned authorities to ensure the disbursement of compensation money to the flood-affected people in 24 hours. “During my visit here and to other camps I have been told the people are not being provided food and water. It is extremely unfortunate.” he had said.
