Imran Says He Can Hold Talks With TTP Or Ethnic Separatists But Not 'Thieves'
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson and former prime minister Imran Khan has said that he can consider sitting down for talks with banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or Balochi or Sindhi separatists, but not 'thieves', referring to the coalition government.

He made these remarks during an address on Wednesday night, which was part of the 'thanksgiving day' being celebrated by the PTI in regards to the Supreme Court verdict on Tuesday that declared PTI-ally and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Parvez Elahi the chief minister of Punjab.

“I can talk to the TTP, the separatists of Balochistan and Sindh, but not with thieves. Will you speak to someone who robs your home?” he asked in his address.

He added, "You can’t do it because if you talk to him, then all those around you will start committing robberies. If you don’t bring robbers to justice, then the entire society will crumble."

Imran said he had only seen such enthusiasm once before in his life, during the 1965 war, and said that he had now seen that enthusiasm again during the Punjab by-elections of 2022.

He reiterated his demand for free, fair and transparent elections, and said that the biggest political party of Pakistan did not trust the incumbent Election Commission, and that the commission should be as such that no political party has issues with it.

"Let the people decide; if the elections were held at that time, Pakistan would not have faced this crisis," he said, adding, "Even today, I say the the only solution to the crisis are transparent elections."
