Don't Incite Violence During By-Polls, Interior Minister Warns PTI
Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership against 'inciting violence' during the Punjab by-polls scheduled for Sunday.

Twenty constituencies of Punjab are on the ballot after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) unseated 25 provincial lawmakers for voting against party lines during the recent election for the province’s chief minister.

A tough contest is expected between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the PTI in the by-polls as the majority of the 20 defecting PTI MPAs have hitched their wagons to the PML-N.

In a video message today, the interior minister said that PTI Chairperson Imran Khan has lost the by-polls but is now gearing up to fight the people.

He said that the former premier and his “tigers” should stay within the law, adding that the law would spring into action if a repetition of the events of the Daska election occurs.

He alleged that the PTI has reportedly summoned more than 500 rioters to Punjab with the intention of causing chaos in the by-polls and there i a plan for them to fight the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

“Pervaiz Khattak, Asad Qaisar Ali Muhammad Khan and Murad Saeed are providing shelter to these rioters,” he said, adding that those who violated the law or orders of the Election Commission will be made to face the law.
