COAS Bajwa Denies Anchor's Claim About Previous PML-N Govt Misusing CPEC Investment
Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has reportedly denied anchor Ghulam Hussain's claims about the COAS telling him that the then Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government committed massive corruption in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The anchor had quoted General Bajwa as saying that the Nawaz-led government had siphoned off $9 billion out of the total $19 billion Chinese investment for CPEC.

According to a report by The News, a source within the military has said that Gen Bajwa, in response to Hussain's claims, said, "Rubbish, totally rubbish."

The ARY anchor had claimed in a recent show that General Bajwa had told him in the presence of two other individuals that $9 billion was stolen out of total initial Chinese investment of $19 billion under CPEC during the PMLN government at the Centre and in Punjab.

The anchor claimed that he had asked the army chief why he hadn't taken any action, to which he had said that the Chinese government had been presented with evidence, but they were hesitant to share it in public.

Hussain then declared that if anybody wanted to challenge or contradict him, he would not shy away from responding.

According to the source, when the clip was shared with Gen Bajwa, he responded to ARY's claim and said it was completely rubbish.

A clip from Hussain's show has gone viral on social media, with many saying if Hussain's claims are true, then there needs to be a serious investigation. Either the ISPR needs to clarify, or Hussain needs to take back his assertion.

Following this, sources within the military claimed that General Bajwa had rejected the claims made by the channel.
