Information Minister Confirms PM Shehbaz, PML-N leaders To Meet Nawaz In London
Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb has confirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would be leading a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders to meet the party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London.

The confirmation came during a press conference held alongside Power Minister Khurram Dastgir, where the information minister acknowledged that while several channels had been reporting the news of the PM's upcoming visit to London, the opposition was blowing the occurrence out of proportion.

"PML-N members are going on a private visit to London to meet with Nawaz Sharif," she said.

The minister downplayed the matter by suggesting that such methods of consultation are not uncommon practices for politicians, who often hold meetings to consult and deliberate on policy matters. She said that this wasn't that big an issue, but "those who have nothing to say and nothing to show for their performance have found a topic."

Media reports cite sources who claim that the premier will be traveling with six to seven ministers, and will likely remain in London for two-three days. So far, the exact purpose of the trip remains unclear, although media outlets have been reporting that Nawaz has reservations about some issues and will be making a 'big decision'.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been residing in London since November 2019, on the pretext of ill-health, due to which the Lahore High Court allowed him to remain in London for a duration of four-weeks to get medical treatments, after his younger brother Shehbaz Sharif submitted an undertaking signifying that his brother would return within the stipulated time.

Since then, Nawaz Sharif has sought extensions on his return date, prolonging his stay in London on medical grounds.
